WV Southern Baptists
Strengthening and sending churches to make Jesus known in and through West Virginia.
Established in 1970, the West Virginia Convention of Southern Baptists (WVCSB) is a network of over 200 independent Southern Baptist churches that work together to “make Jesus known in and through West Virginia.”
West Virginia Southern Baptists elect an administrative committee and appoint an executive board that oversees WVCSB ministry initiatives carried out by the WVCSB staff.
West Virginia Southern Baptists recognize ten regional areas in the state - associations - that represent a number of cooperating WVCSB churches in their specific region.
WVCSB ministry initiatives are funded by the generous giving of West Virginia Southern Baptists by way of the Cooperative Program and the Ola Cox State Missions Offering through local churches.
We affirm The Baptist Faith and Message 2000.
“Christ's people should, as occasion requires, organize such associations and conventions as may best secure cooperation for the great objects of the Kingdom of God.”
