Silver Springs Baptist Church in Princeton, West Virginia, is currently seeking a bi-vocational pastor.
The congregation offers a salary package that is competitive with churches of similar size. While housing is not provided, a housing allowance is included, and the church participates in the annuity board provided by the Southern Baptist Convention. Though their current service schedule has been beneficial and effective for some time, they are flexible and open to adjustments that promote spiritual growth and discipleship.
Silver Springs Baptist Church is a Southern Baptist congregation located at 308 Thornton Avenue in Princeton, WV. The church was constituted in 1914 as a community church and, in 1965, became a charter member of the Mountain State Baptist Association alongside 17 other congregations. It is a small, country church located just inside the Princeton city limits. While the city’s population is around 5,600, a larger population resides just outside the city limits.
Services currently include Sunday morning worship, Sunday evening Sunday School for all ages, and Wednesday evening adult prayer meeting and Bible study, along with classes for all youth groups. The church participates in Southern Baptist events, and Vacation Bible School is a highlight of the year. Sunday morning attendance averages about 65, with 30 attending on Sunday evenings. Over the past two years, 13 individuals have been baptized.
The church facilities include a worship sanctuary that seats 100+, adult and youth classrooms, a fellowship hall, and an outdoor covered picnic shelter. The church also owns two rental properties adjacent to the building, both currently occupied. A parsonage is not available.
Most importantly, the church desires to grow the gospel. They believe the Bible is the inerrant Word of God and are seeking a pastor who will lead them into a closer relationship with God and with one another. Silver Springs affirms the Baptist Faith and Message 2000 and will follow biblical standards in calling their next pastor. They also expect their pastor to uphold and share the Message in accordance with Scripture.
