Simpson Creek Baptist Church in Bridgeport, West Virginia, is prayerfully seeking an Associate Pastor of Youth and Family Ministries.
Simpson Creek Baptist Church is located at 231 W Philadelphia Ave, Bridgeport, WV, and is an active member of the West Virginia Convention of Southern Baptists.
Position Summary:
The Associate Pastor of Youth and Family Ministries will provide Christ-centered leadership and pastoral care to students and their families, developing a comprehensive disciple-making ministry aligned with the mission, doctrine, and vision of Simpson Creek Baptist Church. He will serve alongside the Senior Pastor and Pastor of Education as an equal holder of the biblical office of pastor/elder — sharing the same spiritual calling, moral expectations, and scriptural qualifications — and will commit to a culture of mutual accountability, encouragement, and spiritual brotherhood in leading the church together.
Principal Responsibilities Include:
*Casting and implementing a biblical vision for youth ministry, integrated into the broader life of Simpson Creek Baptist Church.
*Teaching regularly in Sunday School and Wednesday Night settings and coordinating programming including retreats, camps, and the Youth Praise Band.
*Developing a discipleship process for students through small groups, mentoring, leadership development, and missions involvement.
*Partnering with parents as the primary disciple-makers of their children, providing resources, training, and consistent communication.
*Providing pastoral care and biblical counseling to students and families in times of need.
*Leading outreach and mobilizing students for mission opportunities locally, nationally, and internationally.
*Supporting the broader life of the church through worship leadership, pastoral duties, and active participation in church leadership meetings.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will be a spiritually mature man of God who affirms the Baptist Faith and Message (2000), demonstrates the ability to teach Scripture faithfully to youth, and brings strong relational and organizational skills to a multifaceted ministry. A bachelor’s degree is required; seminary training from an accredited evangelical or Southern Baptist institution is preferred. Prior youth ministry experience is a plus.
Compensation:
This is a full-time position with an annual salary of $65,000–$70,000, based on experience and education.
