Immanuel Baptist Church (IBC) is prayerfully seeking a senior pastor to serve as the congregation’s spiritual leader and primary undershepherd.
The pastor’s primary responsibilities are to faithfully preach and teach God’s Word, provide compassionate pastoral care, equip the church to fulfill the Great Commission and lead with Christlike servant leadership while casting a compelling vision for the church’s future.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will:
- * Demonstrate a clear call to pastoral ministry.
- * Hold a Master of Divinity degree or be actively pursuing one.
- * Have at least five years of pastoral leadership experience.
- * Affirm and align with the Baptist Faith and Message 2000.
- * Live in and actively engage the local community.
- * Lead a family that is willing to be involved in the life and ministry of the church and surrounding community.
About the Community
Located in southern West Virginia along the scenic U.S. Route 460 and Interstate 77 corridors, Princeton is a close-knit, historically rooted Appalachian community of approximately 5,700 residents. More than 40,000 people live in the surrounding communities, including Athens, Oakvale, Glenwood and Brushfork. It’s the kind of place where community ties are strong and neighbors know one another. Concord University, Bluefield State University and Bluefield University are all located within approximately 10 miles of the church.
Church Profile
Immanuel Baptist Church has faithfully served its community for nearly 80 years. Sunday morning worship attendance averages approximately 200 people, with attendance typically ranging from 180 to 230.
The church campus includes:
- * Sanctuary seating more than 350
- * Two-story main education building
- * Multi-purpose building with gym/fellowship hall, classrooms, commercial kitchen, walking track and shower facilities for mission teams
- * Outdoor pavilion seating approximately 200 with kitchen and restrooms

The church offers active children’s ministries and a vibrant Women on Mission ministry. IBC has a longstanding commitment to missions and desires a pastor who will continue strengthening the church’s missional focus.

Compensation will be commensurate with education and experience.
